dreams_poss2015 New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship

Nature of the Competition

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation) invites doctoral students accepted or enrolled in a research doctoral program to submit applications in competition for the New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship.

The intention of this program is to support strong doctoral candidates who will pursue a teacher-investigator career in the academic environment, university/college level. It is made possible by the ASHFoundation's Dreams and Possibilities Campaign which raised significan funds to strengthen doctoral education and research support in the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.

For 2015, the ASHFoundation will award up to twenty scholarships of $10,000 each. Selection of recipients will be completed in November and funding will be disbursed during the ASHA Convention in Denver, Colorado.

Potential applicants should carefully read the section on eligibility and, upon determining that all criteria are met, prepare an application for submission according to the application requirements.

Funding Note

Scholarship funding is to be directed toward educational support such as tuition, books, school-related expenses, living expenses, but not for personal or professional travel.
