Nature of the Competition
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation) invites students accepted or enrolled in a research doctoral program to submit applications in competition for $10,000 scholarship awards.
The ASHFoundation is able to offer this special competition as a result of its Dreams and Possibilities Campaign initiative. This campaign raised over $2 million to support doctoral education and research in the field of communication sciences and disorders. The intention of this program is to support strong doctoral candidates who will pursue a teacher-investigator career in the academic environment, university/college level.
For 2012, the ASHFoundation will award up to twenty scholarships. Deadline for receipt of applications is May 7, 2012. Selection of recipients will be completed in November of 2012 and funding will be disbursed during the ASHA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Potential applicants should read carefully the section on eligibility and, upon determining that all criteria are met, follow the application procedures.
Funding Note
Scholarship funding is to be directed toward educational support such as tuition, books, school-related expenses, living expenses, but not for personal or professional travel.
Submission Requirements
Submit the original application form with all accompanying documents and four additional sets of the original packet to the address below. Please collate each individual packet with paperclips, do not use staples. The ASHFoundation must receive these five assembled packets no later than May 7, 2012, at the following address.

No extensions will be granted beyond the May 7, 2012 deadline and fax copies will not be accepted. Confirmation that your application has been received will be sent by e-mail if you include an e-mail contact address. Applicants will be notified of competition results in November of 2012.
