To be eligible to receive one of the 2012 ASHFoundation New Investigator Research Grants, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  1. The individual must have completed a PhD or equivalent research doctorate within the past five years (since 2007).
Note: Due to the availability of other student research grant and scholarship competitions through the ASHFoundation, students enrolled in a degree program are ineligible for this award.

  2. The individual must not have received prior funding for research, with the exception of internal university funding.

  3. The proposal must be for research to be initiated, not currently in progress.

  4. The proposal submitted to the 2012 New Investigators Research Grant competition cannot be submitted to other 2012 ASHFoundation grant competitions. However, the investigator remains eligible to submit to other ASHFoundation grant competitions in the same year, if proposing to investigate a different topic.

Number of Grants

Up to ten research grants of $5,000 each will be given in November 2012.
