ASHFoundation Implementation Science Summit: Integrating Research Into Practice in Communication Sciences and Disorders
March 20–22, 2014
In 2014, the ASHFoundation will host The Implementation Science Summit at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. Drawing from the knowledge and expertise of implementation scientists in other disciplines, participants will learn from speakers who will cover a range of conceptual topics and practical tools.
Day 1: Big Picture Thinking
Presentations include speakers from disciplines ranging from medicine to public health, epidemiology to social work, education to psychology. Participate in sessions to explore how types of research fit together with implications for Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Day 2: Strategies and Tools
Sessions provide researchers with tools to begin thinking about how to embrace implementation in their research programs, where to start, what to think about in conceiving of expanded research objectives. The second day will include individual presentations, research methodology exemplars, and interactive break-out sessions.
Day 3: Future of Implementation Science
Presentations focus on funding opportunities and conclude with a dialogue focused on future action for the discipline of human communication sciences and disorders.
Three Reasons to Attend the Summit
- Learn about implementation science from a conceptual and methodological vantage point.
- Interact with an elite group of speakers within and outside communication sciences, including medicine to public health, education to psychology, epidemiology to sociology.
- Problem-solve and collaborate on challenging issues of design, measurement, fidelity, and sustainability.
Researchers, research clinical partners, mentored doctoral students, and other related audiences are invited to join us in March to reinvigorate their research career with new ideas, perspectives and skills.
This program is offered for 1.75 ASHA CEUs (Various Levels, Professional Area).
