American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation Jazzes It Up!
Thursday, November 19, 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Howlin' Wolf, New Orleans
Imagine being in New Orleans and listening to some of the finest jazz around played by an ASHA member! Well-known audiologist Chuck Berlin will be performing with other New Orleans All-stars to help raise money for the ASHFoundation's grants and scholarships programs at one of the Big Easy's premier music clubs, the Howlin' Wolf.
Chuck Berlin delved into jazz at age 7 and first performed for clients of his father-a speech-language pathologist-as they waited for treatment appointments in his father's home office. At 19 he contracted polio in his hand and arm, and decided to pursue a doctorate. Actually, he earned two PhD's, in speech-language pathology and audiology. Eventually, he regained use of his hand and returned to his first love, piano jazz.
Chuck's commitment to the communication sciences and disorders and his passion for jazz are now coming together to benefit ASHFoundation research and scholarship programs at this unique fundraising event.
