Drs. Richard Schiefelbusch, James McLean, and David Yoder
The ASHFoundation’s McLean, Yoder, Schiefelbusch (MYS) Fund in Severe Communication Disabilities supports an ASHFoundation New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship or Research Grant in communication sciences and disorders, specifically to support individuals’ scholarly development of research and practice in the area of severe communication disabilities.
Named in memory of Drs. James McLean, David Yoder, and Richard Schiefelbusch, this fund builds on their legacy of supporting the communication needs of individuals with severe disabilities. Their early 1970s book on language intervention for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities helped pave the way for providing communication services and support to those who had previously been excluded.
The ASHFoundation, the National Joint Committee for the Communication Needs of Individuals with Severe Disabilities, and our generous supporters are grateful to provide ongoing opportunities for scholarship and research through the MYS Fund in Severe Communication Disabilities. Please consider joining us by making a gift to this fund today.
